From 7 to 9 April in the city of Almaty in the sports palace of Baluan Sholak the Asian Cup in judo among youth, dedicated to the memory of Beket Makhmutov, was held.

By decision of the judges, the student of the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after Y. Altynsarina Kablan Nursultan.
In addition to medals, the champions and prize-winners of the tournament received ratings. For example, the winner of the tournament received 100 points, the silver medalist - 60, and the judoka who won the bronze medal was awarded 40 points in the world ranking.
More than 400 athletes from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Hong Kong, Georgia, Mongolia and the USA took part in the tournament.
The competition is being held for the sixth time.
It should be noted that Makhmutov Beket Sapabekovich from 2009 to 2012 headed the Judo Federation of Kazakhstan, and also served as vice-president of the Asian Judo Union.
