A solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Science Workers, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held in the capital.

More than 350 invited guests took part in the event. These are members of the National Council on Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, members of the Public Council on Science, Higher Education and Language Policy, representatives of state bodies and national companies, heads of universities and scientific organizations and others. Among the participants, the Chairman of the Board - Rector Yerzhan Amirbekuly.

Altai Kulginov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke during the solemn meeting.
“Today is a historic day. The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich, gathered our scientists and held the first meeting of the National Council. Topical issues of the scientific sphere of our country were discussed there. Following the meeting, the Head of State gave a number of instructions to the Government, the Ministry, and paid special attention to the field of science. Among the historic decisions is the separation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It also reflects the president's special attitude to science,” A. Kulginov noted.

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek congratulated the participants of the event on this significant date.
“The Ministry, in broad cooperation with the scientific and expert community, is developing a draft new Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Science and Technology Policy”. Measures are being taken to digitalize science, a unified information system "Science of Kazakhstan" is being developed. The Ministry has a clear vision of ways to develop Kazakhstani science in accordance with the tasks set in the Address of the Head of State and in the Election Program,” the minister noted.

For the contribution to the development of domestic science and higher education, the Minister presented a number of leading scientists with the departmental award "Gylymdy damytuga sinirgen enbegi ushin".
Also, an exhibition of scientific achievements was organized for the participants of the event, where guests could get acquainted with the discoveries of Kazakh scientists.
