As part of the Science Week, on April 14, 2023, the Altynsarin Institute hosted the English language olympiad “Be Smart” among schoolchildren.

The Olympiad, organized by the OP "Foreign language: two foreign languages", "English", was attended by 12 teams - secondary schools of the city of Arkalyk.The Olympiad consisted of 4 rounds:
1 round. Country awareness Questions about country studies.
Round 2 Who am I? Picture Contest
3 round. Blitz questions for team captains
Round 4 Poster Protection

“The purpose of the event is to identify and support gifted children in the field of foreign languages, to ensure the continuity of the school-university. Undoubtedly, in connection with globalization and the strengthening of the position of the English language in the world, such events contribute to an increase in interest in learning the language and the level of proficiency in it,” the organizers say.

Head of the educational program "Foreign language: two foreign languages", "English language" Asanova A.K. expressed her gratitude to the leadership and schoolchildren who actively responded to the invitation of the department. Noting the need and importance of the English language in modern society, she spoke about the attention paid to foreign languages in our university and urged schoolchildren to make their choice in favor of the Altynsarin Institute in the future.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the winners were:
1st place - secondary school named after A. Makarenko,
II place - secondary school No. 3 named after. B.Mailina and secondary school. Sh. Ualikhanov,
ІІІ place - school-gymnasium named after. A. Kunanbaeva and secondary school No. 2.
All participants of the Olympiad received certificates of participation, the winners were awarded certificates and prizes.
