April 19, 2023 at the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after Y. Altynsarin hosted a republican seminar "Development of information and functional literacy of students" under the guidance of the head of the educational program "Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics, Mathematics and Informatics" G. Sabitbekova.

The participants of the event were representatives of higher and secondary professional educational organizations, school teachers, as well as students of the Altynsarin Institute. In total, more than 50 people from cities and districts of Akmola, Kostanay, Turkestan and other regions of the country took part in the seminar.
The program of the seminar included issues of improving and evaluating the functional mathematical literacy of students through the use of effective methods and techniques of new information and telecommunication technologies.

The organizers and participants of the event note the invaluable role of the functional literacy of schoolchildren in achieving the goal - the global competitiveness of education. According to the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science and Informatization, PhD A. Yeskermesuly, the formation and development of functional literacy of students in the context of digitalization of education is one of the leading areas of scientific research of the Altynsarin Institute.

Asylkhanov Orynbasar Bakhytuly - director of the center "UBT MEKTEBI", teacher of mathematical literacy, Turkestan region, Maktaaral district;
Myrzakerim Darkhan Erkinbekuly - teacher-moderator, teacher of mathematics at the small-scale basic school named after L. Tazhibaev, Turkestan region, Tolebi district;
Yerik Zhalgasbek Rauіluly - teacher-expert, teacher of mathematics at secondary school No. 1, Sh. Ualikhanov's estate, Arkalyk;
Ulysbai Sherkhan Erkinuly - teacher-moderator, teacher of mathematics at secondary school No. 4 named after Keiki Batyr, Arkalyk
Turakeldiev Syrlybai Musulmankululy - teacher of mathematics at the school-gymnasium named after Y. Altynsarin.
During the seminar, there was a constructive exchange of views on the issues raised and the experience presented, as well as recommendations for ensuring the availability and quality of educational services in order to strengthen the functional literacy of students. Following the results of the republican seminar, the dean of the faculty presented certificates to the participants.
