On behalf of the Head of State, targeted educational grants were allocated to graduates of Atyrau and Mangistau regions last year. A targeted grant will also be allocated this year.

It is known that last week, on April 22, in the House of Friendship of the city of Aktau, the Department of Education of the Mangystau Region organized a large exhibition, a meeting with the Deputy Director of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Saparkhodzhaev, Director of the National Testing Center R. Emelbaev and 42 leading universities of the country.

This week, outreach work on targeted educational grants was continued at the Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. On April 24, the Higher Education Exhibition was also held here, where about 40 universities of the country presented their educational programs to applicants and their parents.
As part of the event, representatives of universities, including the Altynsarin Institute mobile group headed by rector Yerzhan Amirbekuly, acquainted students with educational institutions and gave advice on choosing a profession.

Also, the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanysh Yergaliev met with the rectors of Kazakhstani universities on the issues of Atyrau-Mangistau target grants. During the meeting, a Memorandum was signed between the ministry and the Akimat of Atyrau region on the systematic organization of work on the development of targeted grants allocated to the western region of the country and the training of teaching staff relevant to the region.

It should be noted that in 2022, for the first time, a new type of educational grant was defined - “Target educational grant for studying in leading higher educational institutions of youth from densely populated and western regions”, which will allow applicants from Atyrau and Mangystau regions to receive targeted grants for studying at universities.
Recall that graduates of schools of the current year can participate in the competition for the grant “Target “Atyrau-Mangystau”. At the same time, they cannot simultaneously participate in the general competition, including under the Serpin program.
