In the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, the world championship in pankration among adults and youth was held.

1st year student of the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after Y.Altynsarin Gulmair Sagidanova, defended the honor of the country as part of the national team of Kazakhstan. The athlete held three meetings and, by the decision of the judges, became the silver medalist in the 57 kg weight category among youth.
“I am taking part in the World Championship for the first time. A little short of the highest award. But for me it was a good experience,” the young athlete shared her impressions.

The future teacher is studying at the Altynsarin Institute under the educational program "Russian Language and Literature in Schools with Non-Russian Teaching". As it turned out, Gulmayra was previously engaged in judo, and since the age of 16 she has been professionally engaged in pankration. At the championship of the republic, she won a gold medal, winning a ticket to the world championship.
It should be noted that this year athletes from 20 countries came to the Pankration World Championship. Thanks to the high level of training and professionalism, the Kazakhstan team in this sport took 1st place in the team event.
