The 12th Summer Universiade in Kazakhstan finishes in Aktau. Student-athletes of the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after Y. Altynsarin silver medalists of the Kazakh kures competitions.

In the last days of the competition on June 20-23, 2023, paluans from among the students of the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan took to the carpet in the Mangistau Arena sports complex to determine champions in Kazakh kures in different weight categories. Students of the Altynsarin Institute team took part in this type of competition. In particular, students of the EP "Physical Culture and Sports" won silver in two weight categories. So, if a 4th year student Akimbek Kairat won an award in the 60 kg weight category, then a sophomore Abutai Timur won a silver medal in the 82 kg weight category.

It is worth noting that the XII Summer Universiade, for the first time held by Yessenov University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, started on May 24. Student competitions in 17 sports, 20 competitions are scheduled for a month - until June 24. More than 3 thousand students from 55 universities of the country take part in the Universiade. The winners of the Universiade will receive tickets to the XXXI World Summer Universiade, which will be held from July 28 to August 8 in China and the II Turkic Universiade, which will be held on September 24-29 in Turkestan. The closing ceremony of the Universiade is scheduled for June 22.
