The faculty, students and staff of the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after Y. Altynsarin took part in a city-wide flash mob dedicated to the day of dombra.

It is noteworthy that the event was attended by the entire staff of the university, headed by the rector of the institute, among which there are both professionals and amateurs. To participate in the city flash mob, they passed the qualifying round of the intra-university competition "Kumbirle dombyra". The main requirement is the simultaneous performance of 7 kuis. The difficulty lies in the fact that the compositions in the competition program are performed continuously, one after another, in the form of one material.

“This event is dedicated to demonstrating and popularizing national traditions, supporting young performers, as well as increasing patriotism and awareness of national culture. The initiator of this idea was the akim of our city Asanov Amirkhan Birkenovich. A lot of preparatory work has been done. Within six months, the entire teaching staff of the university, including both administrative and managerial staff and student groups, studied works, learned to play the dombra, and participated in the qualifying competition. And today, 130 people of our team have shown their creative abilities,” said Yerzhan Amirbekuly, Rector of the Institute.

The participants of the flash mob, led by the akim of the city of Arkalyk, performed works on dombra that reflect both the joy and suffering of the people: “Tepen kok”, “Balbyrauyn”, “Zhastar”, as well as kui Nurkhan Akhmetbekov “Zhenis”, Nurgisa Tlendiev “Alqissa”, "Adai" by Kurmangazy and kui of the Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, honorary citizen of the city of Arkalyk, conductor Abenov Borash "Zheldirme".
It is worth noting that the event, organized by the city akimat, is becoming an annual tradition, in which both old and young participate. Last year, for the first time at the central open-air stadium, 1000 dombra players from the city of Arkalyk performed 5 kuis at the same time. This year, the city administration increased the number of flash mob performers to 1,500 participants.
The event ended with a concert program and festive fireworks.
