Altynsarin Institute student will carry the flag of the country at the opening of the World Summer Universiade

In the period from July 27 to August 8 in the Chinese city of Chengdu, the XXXI World Student Games will be held. This is the third student games to be held in China as an international sporting event and the first Universiade called the World Student Games.

The national team of Kazakhstan consisting of 90 students will take part in 11 sports at the XXXI World Student Games, the press service of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Physical Culture reports.
Participants athletes will compete in the following sports: swimming, athletics, fencing, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, taekwondo, table tennis, wushu, bullet shooting, diving, archery, water polo, badminton, basketball, rowing academic, tennis, volleyball.
3rd year student of the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after Y. Altynsarin (specialization in physical education), three-time champion of Kazakhstan, master of sports in judo, bronze medalist of the Asian Youth Championship (Thailand, Bangkok) Kablan Nursultan (07.07.2023) will carry the flag of the country at the grand opening Universiade.
On July 27 at 20:00 (China time), the National Flag Raising Ceremony will take place in the sports town, the grand opening on July 28, and the closing of the Games on August 8. Our athletes will start their performance with an archery competition. The national team is made up of students from 26 universities of the country.
It should be noted that the Universiade in Chengdu was planned for August 16-27, 2021, but on April 2, 2021, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, a decision was made to postpone it to a later date.
The Universiade competitions will be held under the motto "Dreams in Chengdu become real" or in English Chenqdy Makes dreams Come True. The mascot of the Universiade will be the Ronq Bao panda, which was presented on December 30, 2019.
The International Student Sports Federation in 2019 announced the holding of the World Cup. Therefore, this sport was removed from the program of the Student Games, and badminton was included. The number of sports remains the same, i.e. at the level of 15 species.
As you know, in 2019 Italy hosted the XXX Summer Universiade. According to the results of performances, Kazakhstan took the 25th place among 150 countries of the world: 1 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze medal. In the top three are Japan (82 medals), Russia (82 medals) and China (43 medals).
