In modern society, the Silver Age project is becoming increasingly relevant.

In world practice, the University of third age takes place - this is an international movement that helps older people get a second profession that is relevant for the modern market, organize an active and interesting life, and strengthen their physical and mental health.
At present, for the Kazakh society, the "University of the Third Age" or "Silver Universities" is a relatively new phenomenon.
"Silver University" is an innovative form of work with the elderly, which includes the organization of educational and training courses, creative workshops, coursework in various programs, which helps older people lead an active long life.
In order to implement this project, it is planned to implement the Silver Institute project in the Altynsarin Institute in the new academic year. The work of the project will be aimed at revealing the possibilities and self-realization of older citizens in the conditions of modern society.
As part of the work of the Silver Institute, the university offers a portfolio of training programs for older people, which include courses on modern IT technologies and computer literacy, foreign languages, improving legal and financial literacy, psychological health courses, media courses and art courses Creative Palette. Thus, large-scale work will be carried out to improve the quality of life of older citizens.
It should be noted that "Silver Universities" operate almost all over the world and this movement has been going on for several decades. In the light of the transformation of Kazakhstani education, the opening of such universities is fully consistent with the implementation of the life-long learning direction (lifelong learning).
The main goal of the project is to create conditions for changing the stereotype of behavior and attitudes of older people: moving away from a passive, consumer position and forming a new model of personal behavior by involving older people in cognitive activities, developing and implementing socially significant projects, increasing the degree of their participation in public life.
