The 6th training module of the Academic Leadership Institute program for heads of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan has started in Astana. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The project was developed by the Graduate School of Education of Nazarbayev University on the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Academic Leadership Institute program, launched in April 2023, is aimed at building leadership skills and enhancing the competencies of university administrations in the context of the transformation of education and today's dynamic environment.
Bolat Tokezhanov, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the program. In his speech, he noted the importance of each of the aspects that the Academic Leadership Institute course covers. Among them are sustainability, governance, organizational change and talent management.
“Increasing competence in these areas is designed to create leaders who are able to initiate significant transformations in their educational organizations,” Bolat Tokezhanov emphasized.
Also, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry gave a lecture on the topic of planning, budgeting and forecasting to the audience of the program.
In general, the Academic Leadership Institute program consists of 9 modules, each of which covers certain transformation processes at the university, such as university values and their significance for society, leadership, restructuring the university, addressing student issues and ensuring the quality of academic programs.
In the 6th module "Organizational Change", students learned the key aspects of change management, including leadership strategies, marketing, branding, PR and digital marketing.
The second day of the module was devoted to the financial aspects of organizational change, such as planning, budgeting, forecasting, asset and risk management.
As part of the course, participants will listen to lectures by representatives of ministries, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, national and international experts in the field of higher education, work in groups, solve practical problems and share experiences.
