At the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin on a space of 9 sq.m. "Chessboard" appeared.

Now every student and employee of Altynsarin Institute has the opportunity to play chess right in the university lobby. This is another project to develop the university’s infrastructure, implemented in the new academic year.
The initiator of the creation of the new location was the management of the institute. In his speech, Chairman of the Board - Rector Yerzhan Amirbekuly noted the significance of the new location. “Chess is a unique tool for the development of human thinking. Playing chess helps maintain intellectual abilities, logical and strategic thinking, they also discipline, teach you to make informed decisions and be responsible. All these qualities are also necessary for the development of high technologies and the implementation of innovative projects. I hope that the work of the Chess Territory will help bring scientific and pedagogical creativity to a new level,” he said. According to the rector, the participation of every teacher and student of the institute in this mission is very important.

The platform is a portable chessboard. Each of the figures is specially lightweight; even the weakest or elderly person can easily lift it. Height varies from 47 to 100 cm. The tallest figure is the King.
The institute is confident that the “Chessboard” will also become a popular vacation spot, including for selfies and photo and video shooting.
It should be noted that today, in the field of infrastructure policy, one of the main tasks of implementing the Altynsarin Institute Development Strategy is the formation and creation of a comfortable, attractive and functional educational environment.
