In the context of reforming the education system, the education and formation of a healthy, trained, capable young specialist, consciously oriented towards a healthy lifestyle, becomes an urgent task.

All conditions have been created for this at the Altynsarin Institute. Competitive specialists are being trained with comprehensive knowledge and competencies, capable of carrying out professional and pedagogical activities in the educational program “Physical Culture and Sports”. A sports club “Barys” has been created, uniting students, faculty and staff of institutes.
Every year, the university holds traditional sports competitions for students, faculty and staff, as well as other mass sports events, such as the sports competitions among first-year students, the sports competitions between faculties, the “Vigor and Health” sports competitions, etc.
In addition, students of the institute are given the opportunity to defend the honor of their alma mater at various competitions, participate in the winter and summer Universiade, student leagues held between universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as participate in the championships of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Asia, the World and various international competitions. In particular, Altynsarin Institute student-athletes demonstrate the best results in athletics and weightlifting, football, volleyball and basketball, hand-to-hand combat, judo, large and small futsal, Kazak kuresi, table tennis, togyzkumalak, chess and other games.
The institute is rightfully proud of the sporting achievements of its students; students are members of national teams of the city, region and country, representing the university at competitions of the highest level. During its history, Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin trained many champion athletes who won the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, and national championships. And these traditions are continued by the current generation.
It is worth noting that Altynsarin Institute always supports talented students in sports, education, creativity and other areas. Traditionally, at ceremonial events, Rector Erzhan Amirbekuly honors the best student-athletes, noting that the development of physical culture and sports, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, support of capable, talented athletes will always remain a priority for the institute.
