Training program for heads of Kazakh universities launched in Astana
At the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 100 leaders of Kazakhstani universities began training under the Academic Leadership Institute program at Nazarbayev University.
Among the studying leaders is the Chairman of the Board - Rector Yerzhan Amirbekuly, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science and Informatization of the Altynsarin Institute Alibek Yeskermesuly.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek took part in the launch of the training program.
During the training, the leadership of universities - rectors, vice-rectors, deans and directors of departments will update their knowledge and acquire new skills and innovative technologies necessary for the effective management of universities in today's complex and dynamic environment.
“The Academic Leadership Institute" program will become not only a source of new knowledge, but also an excellent platform for networking professionals, discussing problems and interacting to spread managerial innovations in higher education,” said Sayasat Nurbek.
Also, in his speech, the minister told the seminar participants about the international trends in the higher education system, emphasizing the role and participation of the Kazakhstani education system in it. In particular, the head of the department dwelled on the eight main directions of development of the Ministry, emphasizing the special role of universities in modern society.
It should be noted that the course consists of 9 modules, each of which covers certain transformation processes at the university, such as the value orientations of universities and their significance for society, leadership, revising the structure of the university, solving student issues and ensuring the quality of academic programs, etc.
The training program will run from April to October 2023. It will include lectures by representatives of ministries, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as national and international experts in the field of higher education.
