On April 18, under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbaev, a meeting of the Chamber was held, where the Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Science and Education” was considered and approved.

The purpose of the Law is to further improve national legislation in the field of science and education.
The main objectives of the Law are: introducing innovations aimed at increasing the efficiency of scientific research, improving social guarantees for scientists and optimizing the use of financial resources in science.
The law provides for granting local executive bodies the right to implement state policy in the field of science and scientific and technical activities. Competencies for organizing and implementing scientific and scientific-technical projects and programs in priority areas of the region are introduced.
