Silver University Students Took Part in "Mandalotherapy"
Altynsary Institute hosted "Mandalotherapy" aimed at psychological support for Silver University students. The therapy, carried out with the aim of harmonizing internal norms, was conducted by psychologists of the social and psychological service Smailova G.S. and Azhibaeva Z.Zh.
About 20 senior students took part in the "Mandala Therapy" program, consisting of 6 lessons.
At the first meeting, the participants underwent diagnostics using the "SAN" method.
Lesson 1. Acquaintances. Here, each participant created their own mandala and gave it a name. Familiarized themselves with the technique of making individual mandalas.
Lesson 2. Transformation of negative feelings into a resource. Participants chose colored plasticine associated with negative emotions and molded any figure. Then they implemented a change (associated with positive emotions) by adding other colors.
Lesson 3. Self-esteem. Participants were aware of their strengths and weaknesses, sought to understand that other people are not perfect, and mastered techniques for improving self-esteem and mood.
Lesson 4. Mandala "Map of Desires". Participants were introduced to the concept of "visualization". It was discussed how everyday events affect mood and life in general, how violence in the world (mass media), excessive control over events and unfavorable situations can increase anxiety levels and, thus, reduce the quality of life.
Lesson 5. Mandala diagram "My Life". This lesson was accompanied by obtaining new information necessary for improving overall psychological literacy, recognizing internal resources, improving mood, and constructively correcting the perception of life.
Lesson 6. Weaving the mandala "Amulet". Participants were introduced to the history of mandala weaving. The skills of weaving an 8-ray mandala were practiced.
Participants who completed the "Mandalotherapy" course:
- relieved internal stress, panic and relaxed;
- developed creativity;
- developed fine motor skills of hands;
- searched for internal resources;
- developed communication skills;
- activated feelings;
- developed figurative memory;
- developed reflection and increased self-esteem.
