Laboratory "Hydroponics" launched at Altynsarin Institute

In the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin launched a hydroponics device for the method of growing plants in an aqueous solution of nutrients in a soilless, artificial environment.

This device, functioning on the basis of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatization, educational program "Chemistry, Chemistry and Biology, Biology" is already bearing its first fruits today.
In particular, microgreen basil, lettuce, arugula, watercress, cilantro, alfalfa, etc. are now developed by the hydroponic method. These products, which can be used in the daily menu, are useful for health.

According to the teacher of the educational program Sandugash Bauyrzhanov: "Microgreens are considered a very powerful biogenic food. This is due to the fact that microgreens are a concentrate of vitamins, phytonutrients, carotenoids and minerals with a high density of nutrients. In addition, thanks to the high content of antioxidants, microgreens not only support our health, but also help fight many serious diseases (diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc.).

Here, the roots of plants are located in a specially prepared substrate. Teachers and students daily measure and control water salinity, pH indicator, room temperature and humidity, water temperature. They get a good harvest and conduct research.
The team of the educational program expressed its intention to conduct scientific research together with the students. They plan to offer ready-made products to citizens under the name "AGROFIRMA ALTYNSARIN" on a paid basis, also noting the presence of interested consumers.

It is worth noting that there are several types of soilless methods of growing plants: hydroponics, aggregatoponics, chemoponics, ionitoponics, aeroponics. This device, launched at the Altynsarin Institute, has no analogue in the city of Arkalyk.
