Altynsarin Institute students became winners at the Asian and Oceanian Sambo Championships

In Aktau on May 13, the Asian and Oceanian Sports and Combat Sambo Championship among youth, youth, cadets and masters started for the first time at the Halyk Arena sports complex.

More than 500 athletes and guests from 25 countries took part in the championship, which lasted until May 17.
President of the International Sambo Federation Alamzhon Mullaev made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the tournament and wished the participants good luck.
Among the 100 athletes representing Kazakhstan, there were students from Altynsarin Institute.
As a result, 2nd year student of the educational program “History” Satybaldina Zhuldyz became the champion of Asia and Oceania in sambo wrestling, and 2nd year student of the educational program “Russian Language and Literature” Sagidanova Gulmaira took 2nd place.
Our student-athletes, who excelled in their weight classes and were well trained, once again proved that they are at the peak of their professional form.
At the Asian and Oceanian Championships, the Kazakhstan team won a historic victory, taking 1st place.
Let us note that in 2023, at the Congress of the Asian Sambo Wrestling Union in Tashkent, the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan was chosen from 37 states to host this event. Holding this competition in the city of Aktau not only contributes to the development of the sports movement in Kazakhstan, but also contributes to the development of the tourism industry.
Altynsarin institute is proud and congratulates our student-athletes!
