National traditions are being revived at Altynsarin Institute

A new project has been initiated at the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin, aimed at reviving national identity and modernizing national characteristics. Now the university will have a new tradition - every Wednesday the students and staff of ArkPI will put on national costumes. The main goal is to preserve the historical heritage and maintain the historical continuity of generations in the spirit of national traditions.

This idea was proposed by teachers and students of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Philology of the Institute under the leadership of Dean Kaliev Aibek Kikbayuly. According to the dean, their main task is to restore the ancient culture and rich heritage of the Kazakh people. “National costumes are a reflection of the traditions and historical characteristics of our people. Through the “Satti Sarsenbi” (“Lucky Wednesday Day”) project, we want to show by example how important it is to respect one’s culture and mentality,” notes Aibek Kikbayuly.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the popularization of knowledge about traditional national culture among students. This day will not be limited only to national clothing. Students will enjoy an intensive educational program with a training block and master classes on national traditions. In between classes, they learn a lot of new information about the elements of Kazakh folklore, including oratory and other features of the traditions of the people, starting with the correct greeting. It is gratifying that students of other nationalities did not remain aloof from this tradition. They also take part with pleasure and wear Kazakh camisoles and vests.

It should be noted that the president of the country, K-Zh, also expressed his opinion on wearing Kazakh national clothes not only during the celebration of Nauryz. Tokayev: “The originality of our culture is vividly embodied in national clothing. It would be great if the younger generation wore Kazakh national clothes not only on Nauryz and other holidays, but also on weekdays.”
Altynsarin Institute calls for people to follow their example and use national costumes not only on holidays, but also on weekdays. According to the leadership of the university, issues of spiritual development, preservation of cultural heritage and one’s own national code will continue to remain priorities in the work of the Arkalyk Pedagogical Institute named after I. Altynsarin. Taking as the basis of their work the formation of a unique historical recognition of their native land and the promotion of national culture, the university staff is trying to form teachers of a new generation.
